Selection process

The selection process has a dual purpose.

Firstly, our aim is to get to know the applicant better so as to assure ourselves that he/she has the experience, skills and values required and that he/she is on the same wave length as AstraZeneca company culture.

Secondly, the selection process enables the applicant to become more familiar with the job, the company and its values. The magic must work both ways and the reciprocities must capitalized on to the maximum.

To be more specific, in the framework of each process, we make a selection from the following elements.

  1. CV selection
If your application is accepted for a specific job and/or included in our reserve for future recruitment or if your application for a specific job is not accepted, we will advise you in writing or by telephone within 4 weeks.
  2. Pre-selection by telephone
In some cases (for example if the CV requires more details, if there are a high number of applicants or to test right away certain linguistic knowledge) a quick pre-selection is made by telephone.
  3. Structured interview
In any case, each selection starts by a structured interview with one of our human resource professionals. On one hand, this initial meeting is used to better identify the candidates previous experience and motivation. On the other hand, it enables your skills and personality to be perceived in a structured way, especially through concrete examples of past behaviour. At the end of these initial discussions, we generally decide whether or not to continue with the process.
  4. Tests/Assessment
We also sometimes make you sit psychotechnical tests, which are always carried out under a professional’s supervision who, if you wish, can give you the necessary feedback. Some jobs may also require further exercises of a practical nature, such as role play and assessment.
  5. Interview with the future Line Manager
This step is crucial in the selection process in order to confirm the suitability of your experience and skills to the expectations of the job and the company.
